In the schools of the coastal province of Kampot, something powerful is taking root—knowledge that protects, empowers, and inspires. Action Education / Aide et Action (AEA) seeks to energise young minds to lead healthier lives.
On 15 July 2025, vibrant health education sessions brought life and laughter to several schools, including Koh Tnaot, Kampong Kranuong, and Phnom Reap. These awareness activities are more than just lessons—they are a lifeline, empowering children to build habits that will keep them and their loved ones safe.

As part of our mission to promote health and well-being among schoolchildren, we support local partners and communities in strengthening hygiene and sanitation practices. This is part of a shared vision: a future where every child can grow up healthy, confident, and free from preventable illness.
These sessions are designed not only to teach—but to empower—students to take charge of their health and protect those around them.

Through dynamic discussions and hands-on learning, teachers and mentors are helping students understand the importance of handwashing, personal hygiene, and disease prevention. These are not just lessons—they are life skills that promote dignity, safety, and confidence.
Posters with Purpose: Protecting Health, Empowering Children
To reinforce public health messages, we have developed a series of visually engaging posters that offer practical tips on preventing infection. Designed for young learners, these posters present clear messages in a simple and accessible format.
They now hang proudly in schools across coastal regions—daily reminders of the power of prevention.

These materials are part of the CO-SAVED (Consortium for Sustainable Alternatives and Voice for Equitable Development) project, co-funded by the European Union, which brings together partners committed to education, health, and equity.
Each poster delivers vital messages that are simple and easy to remember.

Poster 1: Encourages frequent handwashing—after coughing, using the toilet, and before meals.

Poster 2: Advises avoiding unnecessary exposure to illness, especially without proper protection.

Poster 3: Promotes responsible actions when feeling unwell, including seeking care and avoiding contact with others.
Hygiene activities are one piece of a larger puzzle—a broader collaborative strategy to reduce the spread of infectious diseases in rural communities. Our goal is to empower children with knowledge that extends beyond the classroom, enabling them to become agents of change within their families and communities.
Together—with educators, mentors, and partners—we are building safer, healthier learning environments where every child can thrive.
